Since its start in 2019, VITAL has made significant progress in older adults vaccination research, with a focus on improving the health and wellbeing of aging populations.
The IHI-funded project has explored critical areas such as the burden of infectious diseases among the elderly and the mechanisms of immunosenescence (the aging of the immune system). Over the years, it has provided invaluable, evidence-based insights into vaccination strategies aimed at promoting healthy aging.
This symposium serves as a culmination of the project’s efforts, offering an opportunity to present and discuss key findings, progress, and results. It will feature an open session that invites all researchers, healthcare professionals, and anyone with an interest in elderly vaccination and healthy aging to join the conversation.
In addition to reviewing the accomplishments of the past five years, the VITAL symposium will also address the sustainability of the project and its potential impact on future healthcare strategies, even beyond the project’s conclusion at the end of this year.
